History

Like many entrepreneurial businesses, Lifetime began as a glint in the eye of our founder James Romanelli. Besides having a lifetime love affair with wood, Jim always recognized that he could do projects better, faster and with more value than anyone else. To this end, Jim set out to educate himself 25 years ago, literally digging holes and ditches. Promoted rapidly within the organizations he worked for as a young man, Jim quickly learned the ins and outs of home building, eventually becoming responsible for constructing hundreds of homes, as well as a number of condominium and hotel projects up and down the Eastern Seaboard. While running these larger projects employing teams of 30 men and more, Jim finally decided that he was ready to take ownership of projects and jobs not only in terms of commitment, but in name as well. But it had to be on his terms and with that, he returned to his first love, fine quality woodwork, cabinetry, built-ins and furniture. Thus, Lifetime Design was born.

Today we are a company with over a thousand satisfied clients, many of whom come back again and again, year after year. This 90% retention rate is fueled by an in-house production management team second to none, running dozens of loyal production craftsmen, and housed in our new fully equipped production facility that is capable of meeting any building requirement. Lifetime has a pending AWI Premium Certification by the Architectural Woodwork Institute undergoing on-site inspections of both past and in-process work, evaluations of manufacturing techniques and craftsmanship, and review of recommendations by contractors, architects, designers and owners.
